  • Art Classes and Workshops

I host various in-person short art courses and workshops around Glasgow, including at Cass Art in the city centre. Class sizes are kept small to ensure plenty of one-to-one tuition and are suitable for beginner and intermediate artists. Themes and mediums vary from workshop to workshop. Updates for when new classes are running are posted on my social media accounts. Additionally, I have a class mailing list, which is the first to be updated for new classes and courses. If you'd like to be added to the mailing list, please drop me an email!

If you have a friend or a small group of friends and would like to set up your own semi-private art class, I am available to do this. I’m also available to hire for parties and other creative events.

  • Parties

Looking for a unique theme for a party? I offer a range of fun activities to suit your personal creative interests and can plan parties suitable for children, teenagers, and adults. Themes of previous parties and creative workshops I've run have included, manga, comics and character design, fantasy creatures, science and art, animals, pets, portraiture, collage, watercolours and more. If you'd be interested in hiring an artist for your party and live in or close to Glasgow, feel free to get in touch for a personalised quote.

How Do I Teach?

Unlike a lot of formal art courses, my lessons heavily emphasize technique and giving you both the skill and theoretical fundermentals to progress quickly with your artistic ability. My workshops and classes are kept small to allow for plenty of one-to-one tuition time where I can demonstrate techniques and work with you individually. Classes typically focus on realism which is fundermental to stylistic approaches, and in particular, we study anatomy, textures, and the theory and application behind achieving realistic light and colour.

Testimonials

"My son first started attending Shirin's art classes a number of years ago and the transformation has been incredible; from teaching 2D to 3D to fantasy. Shirin creates such a warm and encouraging environment and her ability to nurture creativity while also teaching solid techniques has helped him grow both in skill and in confidence, so much so in preparation for his exams we decided on private tuition, it’s been amazing to watch his artistic expression flourish under her guidance. I can’t recommend Shirin highly enough to any parent looking for an inspiring and dedicated art tutor."
- Alison
"Shirin is a great teacher; she is patient and encouraging and knows her stuff, and I simply lose track of time in her classes. Encouraged by my progress, I've also started to try more things, artistically! I would thoroughly recommend Shirin's classes."
-Iida
"I felt immediately welcomed into Shirin's art class as she's both friendly and knowledgeable about art. She uses this knowledge to help me and others in the class to push towards their art goals while still creating an inclusive and friendly atmosphere"
-Mason
"Shirin is very patient when walking you through the different steps of the drawing process. She'll offer insightful feedback to improve your drawing technique."
-Rocio
"From my first class with Shirin my confidence in my drawing ability has grown immeasurably. Unlike other art classes/workshops I have attended in the past, feedback from Shirin is always very constructive as well as being kind and subsequently I notice a marked improvement in the art I am producing. I would have no hesitation in recommending these classes/ workshops."
-June
"Shirin is amazing. Calm, patient, super knowledgeable and always challenges me to try new techniques, materials and subjects. My skills have improved massively since I joined her classes. Definitely recommend!"
-Shona
"I had art lessons with Shirin, and it changed the way I see things. She has such an eye for detail, and such an easy way of explaining changes or alterations needed to a drawing, that I was just excited to make those changes - I never felt criticised. I loved my lessons, and really missed them when Shirin moved away. I would thoroughly recommend her as a teacher! Enjoy your time with her."
